Since independence, Kenya has become one of the most successful countries in athletics. Kenyan athletes have won numerous medals at the Olympic Games, the Commonwealth Games, and the World Championships. This success is a testament to the hard work and dedication of Kenyan athletes, as well as the support of the KAA and the Kenyan government. 

Here are some of the most notable Kenyan athletes who have achieved success in athletics: 

Kipchoge Keino: Keino is considered to be one of the greatest long-distance runners of all time. He won two gold medals and a bronze medal at the 1968 Olympic Games, and he also won four gold medals at the Commonwealth Games.

David Rudisha: Rudisha is the current world record holder in the 800 meters. He won gold medals at the 2012 and 2016 Olympic Games, and he also won three gold medals at the World Championships.

Eliud Kipchoge: Kipchoge is the current world record holder in the marathon. He won gold medals at the 2016 and 2020 Olympic Games, and he is the only person to have run a marathon in under two hours.
